Few Pokemon have inspired collectors quite like Eevee. Known as the Evolution Pokemon, Eevee can evolve into eight different Pokemon, each with its own type and personality. That variety makes Eevee Pokemon cards a joy to collect, and some of the most valuable modern cards in the hobby feature Eevee or one of its evolutions.
This guide introduces every Eeveelution, highlights the most famous Eevee Pokemon cards and sets, and shares tips for building a binder you will be proud of.
Why Is Eevee Pokemon So Popular?
Eevee is cute, friendly and full of potential. In the video games, it can become a Water, Electric, Fire, Psychic, Dark, Grass, Ice or Fairy Pokemon depending on how it evolves. Fans love choosing a favourite, and collectors love the challenge of collecting all of them.
In the trading card game, Eevee and its evolutions appear in almost every era. Special sets have even been built entirely around them, which keeps Eevee Pokemon at the centre of the hobby.
Meet All Eight Eeveelutions
Each evolution of Eevee is called an Eeveelution. Here is the full family:
- Vaporeon: a graceful Water type that can melt into water
- Jolteon: a spiky Electric type with lightning-fast reflexes
- Flareon: a fluffy Fire type with a burning hot body
- Espeon: an elegant Psychic type that senses its surroundings
- Umbreon: a mysterious Dark type with glowing rings
- Leafeon: a Grass type that photosynthesises like a plant
- Glaceon: an Ice type that can freeze the air around it
- Sylveon: a Fairy type with ribbon-like feelers
Add Eevee itself, and you have nine Pokemon that fit perfectly on one 9-pocket binder page.
The Most Famous Eevee Pokemon Cards
Umbreon VMAX alternate art (Evolving Skies)
Known as Moonbreon, this card shows Umbreon on a rooftop under a full moon. It is one of the most wanted modern cards anywhere, and the main reason Evolving Skies is so popular. Read our Evolving Skies booster box guide for more.
Prismatic Evolutions Special Illustration Rares
The Prismatic Evolutions special set gave every Eeveelution its own Pokemon ex with stunning Special Illustration Rare artwork. Umbreon ex and Sylveon ex are the top chases. Our guide to the Prismatic Evolutions booster box explains how to buy the set.
Eevee ex promos
Eevee ex promo cards appeared in Prismatic Evolutions products such as the Surprise Box, giving fans a chance at exclusive Eevee artwork.
Vintage Eevee cards
Eevee first appeared in the Jungle set in 1999, alongside Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon. Vintage Eevee and Eeveelution holos remain popular with collectors who love the original artwork.
Best Sets for Eevee Pokemon Fans
- Prismatic Evolutions: a special set built entirely around Eeveelutions
- Evolving Skies: Sword and Shield’s famous Eeveelution set with alternate arts
- Jungle: the vintage set where Eevee made its card debut
- Modern main sets: Eevee and Eeveelutions appear regularly across the Scarlet and Violet and Mega Evolution eras
How to Build an Eevee Pokemon Binder
An Eevee binder is one of the most satisfying projects in the hobby. Here is a simple plan:
- Start with one page: one card of Eevee and each of its eight evolutions.
- Add a page per Eeveelution: collect different versions of each Pokemon.
- Upgrade over time: replace regular cards with full arts and special illustrations.
- Mix eras: add a vintage Jungle card next to a modern Special Illustration Rare.
- Protect everything: sleeve valuable cards before placing them in the binder.
A 9-pocket portfolio or a zippered binder is ideal for an Eeveelution collection.
Eevee Pokemon in the Trading Card Game
Eevee is usually a Basic Pokemon in the TCG, and many Eevee cards have attacks or abilities that help it evolve. That makes Eeveelution decks fun to build, because you can choose which evolution suits your strategy. Some players build decks with several different Eeveelutions, while others focus on one powerful evolution.
Eeveelution ex cards
Modern Eeveelution ex cards are strong attackers. Each has its own type, so you can match your deck to the Energy you like playing with. Check which cards are legal in the current Standard format before building for tournaments.
Are Eevee Pokemon Cards Valuable?
Many are. Eevee and its evolutions consistently rank among the most popular Pokemon, so their best cards hold strong demand. Umbreon in particular has become a modern collecting icon. As always, value depends on the specific card, its rarity and its condition.
Buying Eevee cards safely
Because Eevee cards are popular, fakes exist. Buy from trusted stores, check photos carefully and verify graded cards with the grading company. Our Pokemon singles are checked and graded as Near Mint before listing.
Eevee Pokemon Through the Eras
Every era of the TCG has given Eevee and its family a fresh look:
- Wizards of the Coast era: Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon debut in Jungle, with Espeon and Umbreon arriving in the Neo era
- EX and Diamond and Pearl eras: new Eeveelutions such as Leafeon and Glaceon join the card game
- XY era: Sylveon arrives as the eighth evolution
- Sun and Moon: Eevee and Eeveelution Tag Team cards and GX cards
- Sword and Shield: Eeveelution V and VMAX, including the famous Evolving Skies alternate arts
- Scarlet and Violet: Eeveelution ex and the Prismatic Evolutions special set
- Mega Evolution: Eevee and its family continue to appear across new sets
Collecting one Eevee card from each era is a fun way to see how the card game has evolved alongside the Evolution Pokemon.
Choosing a favourite
If you cannot collect every Eeveelution at once, choose one to focus on. Umbreon collectors chase the Dark-type’s famous alternate arts, Sylveon fans love its soft Fairy artwork, and Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon offer nostalgic vintage options.
Gift Ideas for Eevee Fans
Eevee Pokemon fans are easy to shop for. Consider:
- Booster packs from a set featuring Eeveelutions
- A themed binder to start an Eevee collection
- Premium card sleeves to protect their favourite cards
- A single card of their favourite Eeveelution

Popularity polls change over time, but Umbreon and Sylveon are often at the top, with Espeon, Glaceon and Leafeon close behind. In the card market, Umbreon cards tend to command the highest prices. The best Eeveelution, of course, is the one you love most.
